These are questions related to the iDAM user experience.
Is iDAM a hosted (Software as a Service) System or can I host the system internally?
iDAM is sold as both a hosted solution and a server license solution. Please see the pricing matrix for the different plans.
What browsers are supported for the Client and the Admin tool? Is there a desktop client?
iDAM supports multiple browser types including Internet Explorer 8 and higher, Firefox 3.6 and higher, Safari 3.0 and higher, and Chrome. There is no desktop application.
How many file types does iDAM support?
iDAM supports many different file types including JPG, TIF, BMP, PDF, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, inDesign, CAD and many more. Please see the File Format Support page.
Is there a limit to the number of assets iDAM can manage or the number of users who can connect simultaneously?
There is no limit with iDAM. The only limitation is with the hardware configuration. Please see the Hardware Guidebook.
Is there a limit to the number of Metadata fields in iDAM? Can I create Metadata fields?
There is no limit to the number of Metadata fields. iDAM system administrators can create as many User
Defined Fields (UDF) with a variety of field types (drop down box, multi-line, single line, date, number) to choose from. Each UDF is permission / role based and can be controlled carefully.
If a particular feature is not available in iDAM, is it possible to add it as a custom development?
Yes. We release quarterly updates to the iDAM system with new features and functions. However, if you have a particular request for a new feature please let us know.
Is iDAM Uni-Code Compliant?
Yes. iDAM is now Uni-code compliant. Version 6 supports all character sets plus all Asian languages.
Is
possible to extract statistics from the iDAM database?
Yes. iDAM is designed to log and capture all user and asset traffic in the system. Standard within iDAM are ready made reports that allow Content
Administrators to click through usage statistics. (i.e.. Number of Downloads, Total Number of Assets etc..) Additional reports can be built using the iDAM SQL reporting tools.
